It’s a new year!! Happy 2009!! 2008, for many folks was a challenging one. And, for some folks, 2009 looks to have its challenges as well. But we press ahead: That’s all we can do.

Promising spring is ahead

01/01/2009
As my three calendars on the wall now show December, January and February, part of me already is looking past winter and into spring. Doing outreach work for the Game and Fish Department, my goal is to keep ahead of the curve and assess future issues that might influence how we spend our time outdoors.

12/30/2008

DULUTH – If the big lake seems to have an unusually placid appearance off Duluth’s shores these days, it’s because you’re looking at ice. The western tip of Lake Superior has frozen over in December for the first time in recent memory, and that could mean a long season of ice angling that hasn’t been seen in years.
